High Sodium Intake Increases White Fat
Most weight loss and cardiovascular health advice advocates watching your sodium intake. A recent study now suggests that we can up the ante and ad high sodium intake to the list of things that directly make us fat.
A new study from Brazil now shows a direct correlation to increased white fat mass with high dietary sodium. Worse, the study also indirectly suggests that high sodium intake may create binge eating behavior.
Rats fed a high sodium intake for 6 weeks showed increased white fat mass. Additionally, high sodium intake also created higher serum leptin levels.
