Walking Farther Beats Walking Faster
A recent study concludes that it’s better to go farther than go harder.
A study out of the University of California, Berkeley recently examined the relationship between walking distance and walking intensity (measured as speed) on body fat.
The study is particularly noteworthy due to it’s scale. 20, 353 women and 5,174 men were examined.
The study concluded that while both intensity and distance walked correlate with lower levels of body fat, distance had a greater propensity to be associated to leanness.
Rule of thumb, go farther not faster for greatest weight loss.
