Post subject: Wow u r so right!
Hi Joel, I tried again to send you a PM, not really sure why I cant, do you know why?
Anyhow I am immediately trying what you suggested begining tomorrow. You were so on point, Ive been eating all the salads, yogurt & fruit that I could get my hands on, trying to cut calories like my doc suggested but when the sun sets I want to eat the dinning room table.
Ive gone to 3 different gnc or vitamin stores trying to find liquid EPA/DHA but I cound only find a softgel tablet that has 1,360mg of EPA/DHA which I can take 3x's a day. They are huge! But I'm going to take them with my main 3 meals unless you think I should take 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening. Im so sick of yogurt and salad and I never eat egg yolks since my cholestrol is so high, which it has Never been before the hysterectomy. But I will as you suggested. Its like my body began to process food differently After the surgery because Ive always eaten pretty healthy and had no problem managing my weight, but now its just out of control even though my eating habits haven't really changed. This ravenous hunger at night is new, well over the past 2 yrs or so. Im solid, but way too thick for even my own comfort, and Im sooo not used to it. Ive been a sz 8 most of my life, now Im about a 14. It doesnt seem fair as much as I work out to have my weight not show my dedication. But no one believes I weigh as much as I do because Im solid and compact. I think its just because Ive been a gym rat since I was 18. Im praying that by following your eating suggestions it will finally help me regain control of my weight. YOU have platinum wings in heaven for being so kind to offer assistance to a stranger. I will do what you suggest and keep you posted. THANKS again so so much!

Post subject: cutting calories
There is a lot of new research into an area called energy homeostasis. Without getting into a long/boring explanation, the research suggests that cutting calories can promote a long term increase in food intake. The body always looks to maintain energy intake, and so cutting calories for extended periods upregulates key hormones that make you eat more long term.
I'll send you a pm with specifics on the getting started right.

Post subject: I couldnt send a PM Joel
When I clicked on the PM icon this is the message I got:
Sorry, but the administrator has prevented you from sending private messages.
But on mine there is an email icon and you can send me an email. Im so thankful for the assistance, Ive been losing my mind trying to figure out why I can't lose weight or control evening hunger. Im still not starving this morning but I did not have anything but green tea after 8:30pm last night, and I usually find a way to get something in my mouth, but eating those Almonds did help. But they are so fattening I can't keep doing that I know.
Can you tell me where to get the liquid supplements you recommended, so I can pick them up today? I finally feel like I have some real help and I soooo appreciate it. My doctor just keeps saying "cut your calories" and Im proof that doesnt fix my ravenous hunger at night. I needed a Real solution and I feel like I might actally find that here. Wish I found this site 4 yrs ago. thanks again

Post subject: EPA Oil and Weight Loss
1000mg of EPA/DHA isn't enough. What we are looking for here is 1500 mg of both EPA and DHA per dose, so north of 3000mg. Needs to be the liquid, not the pills. Doing that twice a day, every other day will work wonders.
For now, the first trick is to get through an evening where you wake up starving, PM me and I'll explain how to do this.

Wow, Im so thankful for such a quick response. Thank you so much Joel. Well to answer yr question, no Im not on hormone therapy, I still have my ovaries but no uterus so I think that's why my doctor didnt recommend hormone therapy. You are correct, I never wake up hungry. Ive been doing just the opposite, having a small breakfast because Ive been told I need to eat within 1 hr of waking. I never really want to though. I log my calories on healthylivingonline. thru iVillage and today I did much better with getting more protein in my diet. But a friend recommended I eat 8 oz of nuts to help with my high cholestrol which I forgot to mention I have. But doing that sent my % of digested fat thru the roof even though I only consumed a total of 1277.4 calories today. I dont think that nut thing was a good idea, but it has kept me from the munchies tonight. Its 8:30pm PST and I havent eaten a highway down to a pigs trail tonight
I printed yr suggestions for breakfast and will follow them & let you know how that goes. I take 1000 MG of Fish-Epa each morning. big thanks to you again for the kind help, I love this site, Im definately sticking around awhile

Post subject: night eating
Hi Ladybug. First question would be if you are on any kind of hormone therapy?
Let's start with the night binging. It's a fairly common weight gain pattern that if we don't check now will create big problems later. It's brought on by 3 causes
1. An imbalance of dinner and breakfast and an imbalance of sugars and fats. What you eat for breakfast sets up dinner and visa versa. I will bet you are not waking up hungry, correct?
2. Eating sugary carbs creates the drive to eat more sugary carbs. Similar to the way certain drugs work, good research now exists to show that partaking of the kinds of carbs you mention creates runaway eating behavior.
3. Often work stress and lack of calorie intake during the day create night eating.
So the fixes.
1. You need to drastically up your intake of good fats and cut down on the sugary carbs. The good fats will mostly kill the carb cravings. If you try to cut the carbs without upping the fats, it won't work. The way to do this is Alternate your energy sources each meal. That means eat protein and good fats every other meal. By good fats I mean avocado, extra virgin olive oil, hummus, olives, organic peanut butter, pine nuts, almond butter, and most important, highly concentrated EPA/DHA oil. Over 40, women really need the EPA/DHA oil. It will work wonders.
2. Breakfast - 3 days a week, eat a very large, carb breakfast. The other 3 days a week eat pure fat, or protein and fat for breakfast, examples are 1 whole egg, or 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, or 3 or 4 ounces of cheese. On days that you eat fat for breakfast, eat a large dinner of roughage (green beans, broccoli, asparagus, etc) protein (fish, chicken, etc) and and a small serving of beans. You will wake up starving the next day.
3. Get on EPA/DHA oil. It has profound effects on women over 40.
I see you signed up for VEEP. We roll it out in another week or so. Veep does all of this automatically and much more, so stick around and begin to use that.
Let me know if you are on hormone therapy. Couple of other to give adjustments if you are. Look for a recent post by Mckenzie. Did something similar with her and she immediately dropped 4-7 pounds.

Post subject: Newbie could use some help
Hello, Im new to your site, dont know how I came across it but Im facinated by the wealth of information here. I am a 5'5" 44 yr old mother of 2 and former aerobic instructor. Until my recent hysterecotomy and divorce from my first husband, weight loss and maintenance has not been a problem for me. Over the last 4 yrs its been a different story. Im newly married and have such a supportive husband and family but I desperately want my fit body back. The best thing about this bigger body is I finally have breast but at what cost??
I weigh 185, but im not jiggly because Ive been active all my life, I want to weigh between 135-140 because at that weight I wont lose my breast but will feel more comfortable in my own skin again. I work out 4 days a week, cardio for 30-60 mins + weight training. Since the hyterectomy if I walk pass cake it jumps on my thighs and butt. I am great at eating healthy during the day, BUT when the sun goes down I turn into a food vampire and crave anything unhealthy I can get my hands on. mainly Carbs. How many calories should I consume a day? What supplements do you recommend to help me control my evening cravings? Is there any advice you can offer to help me finally win my battle with losing weight while keeping my curvy figure? Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond to my post. All help is welcomed. Ladybug

Although weight loss often seems complicated, there really are defined categories and reasons for why people gain weight. Energy/metabolic support is one reason, and appetite and hunger control is another.
McKenzie, it sounds like you fall into the later, and an appetite control like Coco Trim would definitely work for you. If you are craving sugary snacks, always hungry and snacking, an appetite control product like Coco Trim will go a long way to help you control your hunger and cravings. Coco Trim contains key ingredients shown to normalize blood sugar levels (insulin) to control cravings and manage fat storage for weight loss. And without getting too technical, it also has ingredients to target oxidative stress, an under publicized cause of inflammation and weight gain (which is made worse by eating sugary and fatty junk foods). Users report great results with this product including decreased hunger, and increased energy. Give Coco Trim a try and let me know how it works for you.

Hopefully this won’t open up the flood gates, but I would like to ask the same question. I have used fat burners and they work well for me when I want energy or to drop some quick weight… but I am always hungry. I am always snacking. And I always crave the things I shouldn’t be eating. I don’t buy that kind of stuff so I won’t be tempted, but my roommate buys sugar snacks and I end up eating them. Would a carb blocker or appetite suppressant be a good supplement for me to take?

Of course you can ask! I’d be happy to help. No doubt eating right and exercising are vital to long term weight loss, but supplements can be an important component of any weight loss strategy.
For your particular situation, it sounds like you would benefit the most from a metabolic enhancement and energy product like SlimBurst. I developed SlimBurst for people just like you who need metabolic support. And if you add CST Boost, it will amplify the fat burning effects for quicker result. Good luck in reaching your weight loss goals. Let me know if my products are helpful, and be sure to check back for the information and tips that will aid your weight loss.

Hello. I have been reading on here, and I am not sure if I can ask this. what supplements should I take? I have tried lots of different diets and pills and never lose much weight. I don’t eat a lot of fatty foods or junk food. I eat pretty healthy and active. No matter what I do, I can’t lose weight.

Post subject: Introduction to Dean's Supplements
Everyone has their own unique weight management issues, but most tend to fall into very defined categories. There is no such thing as a magic bullet, and diet and exercise are still the most vital and key components to any weight loss strategy… but supplements also play an essential role in providing missing or deficient nutrients, and energy, immune, and metabolic support.
Below is an introduction to some of the most popular supplements I have formulated that address these specific needs. Of course more information can be found on their individual product pages, and within the forums with comments and posts by normal users like yourself.
Coco Trim
: This product is ideal for those people who have uncontrollable hunger and sugar cravings. Coco Trim utilizes pharmaceutical-grade, clinically tested ingredients specifically designed to support hunger and cravings. Coco Trim is delivered in a special liquid gel cap delivery system for maximum results, and smells and tastes like chocolate. Simply swallow 1 or 2 liquid gel caps twice daily, 6 hours apart, and say goodbye to hunger and cravings! It’s that easy!
SlimBurst
: If you are one of those people with a sluggish metabolism and low energy, then SlimBurst is the product for you. Uniquely formulated as a dual prong thermogenic, SlimBurst supports metabolism with a breakthrough in “core cooling” thermogensis. No jitters, no crash, just take 1 or 2 capsules once or twice daily and feel the difference immediately.
CST Boost
: At some point or another everyone seems to reach a “dieter’s plateau” or sticking point where they cannot seem to lose any more weight. CST Boost is the cutting edge weight loss amplifier designed to work with either Coco Trim or SlimBurst to give your program that extra kick. CST Boost is also great for those wanting to kick start or “fast track” their weight loss program. Provided in a liquid capsule, 1 or 2 CST Boost taken with either SlimBurst or Coco Trim can fast track and maximize your result.
BodyGlo
: Everyone agrees on the importance of abundant daily intake of fruits and vegetables… but we rarely have the time (and these days, the money). Commonsense tells you if you aren’t eating your fruits and vegetables, you aren’t getting your required and essential nutrients, and may be putting yourself at risk. Just one single serving scoop of great tasting BodyGlo provides the nutritional value of multiple servings of fruits, vegetables, enzymes, minerals and has an ORAC of almost 7,500. This is a product I created for my own personal use, but that everyone can benefit from in achieving maximum nutrition.
