I tried taking creatine supplement to improve my strength for weight lifting. i was on it for about 4 weeks. i barely noticed the difference. Does creatine really work? |

In short...yes...creatine does work. It has been prescribed for years by doctors to patients with a multitude of neuro muscular disorders in efforts to fight the damage being caused to their muscles by the various diseases.
Personally, I've noticed results. The best advice I can give is to experiment. Besides, body builders have been using creatine since before body building was considered a sport...it is perhaps one of the few things left over from the golden age of body building that hasn't stained the sport (like anabolic steroids).
I think you should give it a little more than four weeks, follow the cycling directions of the product labels...and don't give up.
If after a couple of months you still feel like the product isn't working, then give it up...no use beating a dead horse. |

creatine is a great product and it does work... though, there are some people that it won't work for (who knows why). I agree with arb6813, you should give yourself a little more time. It generally takes 3-4 weeks to see results. Keep in mind, if you haven't taken it consistently (every day) that will reduce its effectiveness and delay results. |

it has duration of taking creatine, 4 weeks is too early to spot the diff. so if ever your kinda not satisfied try it for another week and stick to it. maybe your not taking it regularly. share how it works for you again! |

creatine is cell volumizer, it pushes water into your cells making them bigger helping to increase strength. as far as the loading phase, its a crock, use more buy more. you can also try beta-alanine, buffers lactic acid allowing you to do more reps, thus also increases your strength and size. my personal favorite, and theres new studies on, is leucine. shown to not only increase strength, but also build and keep lean muscle. i add 3 grams to my 2 to 3 shakes daily and my strength has gone up. my advice, if most your workouts revolve around isolation exercises and cardio, with the occasional compound movement thrown in, your money is better off staying in your wallet. superfoods, such as bodyglo might be a better way to go, they have also been shown to help preserve lean muscle and thats on top of all the other health benefits it offers. as far as the protein powder, careful, most of it out there is junk, trust me used alot of them myself. best of luck on your goals. |
