Does anyone here keep a journal or log of their weight loss progress? I have done this in the past and I will say that it works tremendously well as far as staying on target with your goals |

Journals are one of the best things you can do to aid your goals. Especially when it comes to keeping track of your diet. Most of the time people don't realize what they eat, how much, or how often.
Though keeping a journal seems like a pain, it's pretty easy as we tend to eat the same foods. Once you have the info down, you can make changes and see how your body reacts. What foods give you energy? What foods help you lose weight? It's all there once you write it down. |

I think that keeping a food journal is a great way to keep your diet under control also. Tracking your food, exercise and weight weekly is very motivating. |

Keeping a journal is a very tedious thing to do especially for busy people, any other way to keep track of your progress? I mean the easier process or method? |

It's hard to cut corners and get great results with anything in life, and weight loss is no different. Keeping a journal is really not that bad. We tend to eat the same foods, so it doesn't take long to see what you are eating and what changes will be helpful.
Think of a food journal like balancing your check book. You may not need to balance your check book every day, but when you don't it's easy to over spend and wonder where the money went at the end of the month. When you do balance your check book, monitor your purchases and keep a budget, you may see, for example, that you spent way too much on eating out or other non-necessary things. Weight loss and a food journal works much the same way. If you don't monitor, you may be gaining weight, but not really know why until you pin down the culprits. |

I will admit I used to think the whole note taking on my dietary content was absurd due to being always on the go and not willing to take the time. I have realized if I want to get the trim, slim, and leanest body possible -- It is a must! You have to recognize that food consumption is a HUGE part and as IMPORTANT as exercise! If you want something bad enough you will do the necessary steps to make it happen. I began to plateau and in turn it lessened my ability to see a difference in my physique. I have since begun to track the foods and nutritional info and what a difference!!! You can do it! |

I've tried food journals. They are good to help you understand how much you eat, but I don't think anyone can do them on a regular basis. It's just too much of a pain. |
