When I first started dieting i thought that by taking phentermine it would help me loose a lot of weight but in fact taking it didn't really do anything for me. I was eating a balanced diet and exercising but I didn't get the results I wanted from the pill. |

Hi jenbear and thanks for posting about your experience. I've never tried Phentermine and am not sure what the expectations for it should be. Is it supposed to rev up one's metabolism in some way? I wonder if a bit of caffeine would work for that. |

jenbear thanks for posting. I was wondering if it worked as I have heard mixed results from them. Glad to hear from someone who has used it. |

I took Phentermine and a prescription antidepressant and the doctors told me it was OK. I never had any problems. |

My sister took phentermine when it first came out. It work wonders on her, but it was like she became addicted to it. Her blood pressure became high on it as well.
She did not have a huge amount of weight to lose. She is the yo-yo kind of dieter and would go up 30 pounds come down 40 and go back up very quickly. That is where the addiction came in. She had to have them so she didn't gain back.
I have never taken them. I would be lying if I told you I haven't thought about it though. |

The problem I have with phentermine is that A, it's a drug, and B, it's addictive. I know several people who whenever the want to loose a few pounds reach for the phentermine. While the stuff works, i.e., it kills appetite, it also makes you high as a kite, which I think is the real reason people love it. Long term, what I've noted is you always wind up fatter by using this stuff. |

I think using a supplement to lose weight can be helpful, however there should be a plan in place to eventually wean yourself off of it. Once a target weight has been reached, proper diet and excercise should help maintain the weight. |
