I have about 100lbs to lose before I'm where I'd really like to be for the rest of my life. I was chunky as a child, used weight watchers to take it off during middle school, but once I got married, yep, that all went out the window! 12 years later and 4 kids later, I'm ready to get it off. Who's with me? |

Congrats for making the decision to do something about your weight. Often, that is the first and most important step. There are always hardships along the way, but if you want to do it, you will. It's not just about looks, but health... especially if you have 4 kids. You want to be around, and healthy, for all the important moments that will no doubt come over the years. There are a lot of tools here to help you lose the weight. Where do you want to start? |

You are right, I want to be around for a long time! I want grandbabies! LOL!
I want to start with just getting ten pounds off by the end of January. I know it's manageable and I can do it. The DH and I have decided no more eating out which not only keeps us from eating unhealthy foods, but saves some $$ as well. Also, cokes and the like are out of our lives. I'm going to try and drink my eight glasses of water a day (which I did today - go me!) and drink no sodas.
I figure these are manageable goals to begin with! |

That is a very prudent way to approach it. Jut pick a few things, make positive changes, and as you see results you will want to do ever more. It is much more effective then making unrealistic changes that you will grow tired of and eventually quit.
I think the two you have chosen, not eating out and eliminating soda, are two perfect changes to make. Cutting out soda is one the the single biggest things you can do. They are bad for you for so many reasons. I am sure you will see weight loss just from that change alone. Another to consider is making sure to eat breakfast. Or, if you already do, replace things like toast or cereal with things like oatmeal. Keep up the great work and keep us up to date on your results. |

I am hoping to see a change. I've been two days so far without a soda so I think if I can just make it a week, I'm good to go! I usually start getting a headache after four days so I have to figure out how to curb those.
I will keep you updated for sure! |

LMK what I need to do. I'd love to try it for free, $$ is super tight right now. I have done other supplements and such in the past, and have kept that weight off, so maybe it's what I need to get a jumpstart! Thanks! |

I will PM you a picture shortly.
I want to say that I did very well today on Day 3 without any sodas. The kids asked for McDonald's so I took them and they split a grilled chicken sandwich and we got a tea. No cokes for any of us! I also bought Diet Coke at the store when I went to grab some snacks for tonight. Usually I grab a regular coke, so I'm trying hard! |

I have thought about the blood type diet. I think I'm allergic to wheat and dairy any suggestions. need to lose 80+. I crave the carbs, love them. any help for me. My problem is that I'm a homicide detective in Miami, and when I'm on a scene my eating habbits suck. Saw myself on a show that we tape and disgusted. |

The blood type diet is a bit misleading. In your case you might want to look into some digestive enzymes and a solid probiotic, which will help tremendously with the dairy.
The carb craving is easy enough to fix. The thing to understand is it is created by an imbalance of fats and sugars.
Suggest you run through the veep questionairre. It will identify a lot of this stuff easy enough and give you some easy suggestions to knock out the cravings.
Let me know if you have any questions |

I'm curious as to what the result score said about your meal patterns? One of the primary ways we get into weight gain patterns is via the relationship between dinner and breakfast. Let's start with that. What did your score say, or give me an idea of dinner and breakfast. |

Pef1996: I wish you all the luck in the world. We are in the same boat. I know how hard it is. Don't you just wish it was something we could tackle in a month? LOL That first magical month---to bad the whole weight loss wasn't like that, huh? lol
You can do it though---you are right, we need to be here for our grandchildren. |

I'm wanting to lose 10 pounds in January and I've only lost 3, but I need to up the exercise. It'd be nice if the first month was the easiest, but it's the hardest! I think I've gotten a hang of the food, I have been tracking it and I can tell when I've eaten too many calories and why. Thanks for the encouragement, I do need it! Good luck to you as well! |
