I have heard it many times that carrots and especially celery are very low on calories and therefore good for dieting. Unfortunately, celery does not work for me, I just can't stand the taste, raw or cooked. But I do like raw carrots, so I chew on them quite often when I want a snack but not a full meal. |

I don't particularity like the taste of celery, either... well, because there really isn't any. That's why I usually eat it with peanut butter or cheese.
I understand that might not be the best "snack" because both add significant calories, but both also add needed protein. Make sure when you are "dieting" you are getting the building block foods and nutrients you need, or else you may be losing "weight" but not the healthy kind (from water or muscle, instead of fat).
If you are a "snacker" and just need to eat something, try drinking a glass of water and then eating. The water will fill up your stomach so you won't go overboard (as well as keep you hydrated), or try eating things like almonds that have a natural appetite suppressing effect. |

You'll get better results out of raw green beans. Better glycemic index and more fiber. Add a few lima beans and some protein to help with hunger. |

I think that you are a lucky person because you can eat carrots. I can´t even bear the appearance of these vegetables. |

Celery is totally unbearable for me. I would eat tons of carrot which is sweet rather than celery. Some people mix celery with soups in order to make it more consumable. |

I can't force myself to eat celery. I'll surely vomit. Carrot is fine for me. I love the taste especially if you dip it with thousand island dressing. |

I love filling up on fresh veggies. Carrots and broccoli are my favorites. They are very filling and when raw I like the crunch too. |

Any vegetable serves as a good snack.
I've actually heard that celery has "negative calories" because it supposedly takes more energy for your body to process it than the calories actually in the celery. I don't know if I believe that or not.
It doesn't matter either way, I can't stand celery! The only way I eat that stuff is if it is cooked in a soup. |

That's funny Vlada, I didn't know that someone might find carrots so detestable. I have always liked them, ever since I was a kid. However, I can't stand cooked carrots... I will even fish them out of my soup. |

Strange. I don't like cooked carrots, either. I don't know why, but I don't. |

I agree shinningstar, celery is evil! Some people insist on spoiling their potato salad with it... Blah... That completely ruins the taste to me. |

Green beans is one thing I can't eat. Once I went on a diet and for lunch every day I had to eat green beans. I got so sick on them!
As for celery and carrots, I like to keep them in the frige and munch on them when I get the urge. I also love to munch on cucumbers. |

Try broccolli, asparagus, bok choi. The idea with this stuff is roughage that makes your gut work harder and burn more energy.
Totally agree with you in that most of this stuff is last on the flavor list |
