I have over 100 pounds to lose. Sad I have been overweight my whole entire life--oh wait, when I was 5, I was actually underweight..lol Then something happened to my body and it took a drastic turn for the worst.

I am 36 years old now with 3 children. I have tried everything under the sun to get the weight off. I do good for so long, become frustrated and put it all back on.

I was reading another thread where she said she had stopped drinking soda. I have also done that. I am a week in a half without it. Smile I drank diet but it is the caffeine that drives me--so that is gone. I can be strong about it. I wish I could just conquer the my addiction to food.

Here is to one step at a time.

You are off to a great start. Deciding to do something about it is the first step... and coming to a site like this where you can find current, and correct information is also a big plus. Hopefully you can get the support you need from others on the boards, as well as find out what changes you can make that are not crazy or unrealistic. Deciding to stop drinking soda (although hard at first) is a positive step in the right direction... and one that you should see results from. Good luck. Stay on the wagon.

your definitely on the right track. theres only one thing i'd like to share. Diet soda is even worse than regular soda. I mean at least regular coke use real sugar(which is also bad if consumed too much). but diet soda uses an artificial sugar called aspartame. There are possible connections between aspartame and diseases such as brain tumors, brain lesions and lymphoma.
The bottom line is stay away from diet sodas. Good luck and stay healthy.

Sweet it sounds like you are on the right track. Motivation is the key. You have to keep yourself positive and just take it day by day. Remember that not everyday will go perfect.
One of my teachers use to come in every day and say, "Today is the first day of the rest of my life." Take that attitude and keep going.
